Top 10 2008 Most Fuel Efficent Cars in Canada
February 21st, 2008 by admin
Natural Resources Canada presented its annual awards for the most fuel-efficient vehicles in 10 vehicle classes this week at the Toronto International AutoShow.
Formerly called the EnerGuide awards, they have been renamed the ecoEnergy for Vehicles Awards, to rebrand them as part of the federal government’s ecoEnergy initiative, from which they are funded.
Since about half of the greenhouse gas emissions generated by individual Canadians come from driving, the use of fuel-efficient vehicles is an effective way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.Mike Wallace, MP for Burlington, presented the awards to representatives of the recipient automakers.
The ecoENERGY for Vehicles Awards are a part of the Government of Canada’s ecoENERGY initiative – a $3.6-billion package of focused measures to help Canadians use energy more efficiently, boost renewable energy supplies and develop cleaner energy technologies.

the honda fit is NOT a station wagon. it is in the same category as the yaris, etc.
station wagon is not the correct term to use. the mazda5 is more of a station wagon. i’m also not sure if the honda accord does as well as the new malibu hybrid or the corolla hybrid. you also don’t have a category for the minis/yaris. i’m assuming sub-compact?
