Auto enthusiasts in the Greater Toronto Area will get their first look at many new cars and trucks during the 2008 Canadian International Auto Show. Below you will find a handful of some of the most impressive cars to look for when you head down to this years show.

Mazda says that more of their customers spend weekends zipping around racetracks in their vehicles than any other automaker. As a teaser for these zoom-zoomin folks, Mazda’s Furai concept took the stand earlier today at the Toronto Auto Show.

Volvo’s clean and green XC60 rolls out at Toronto

A new bio-ethanol powered concept from Scandinavian automaker Volvo just took the stage at the Toronto Auto Show. In contrast to hybrids and diesel technology seen elsewhere, Volvo has taken a less disruptive approach to alternative fuel with its XC60- which runs on Bio Ethanol.

Originally unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show last summer, the 430 Scuderia is an addition to the current line-up and is aimed at Ferrari’s most performance-oriented enthusiasts.

BMW’s new X6 Active Hybrid, and M3: starts at $69,900

BMW unveiled their latest Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) to the media at the Toronto Auto Show. This one’s called the X6 Active Hybrid, and it boasts an improvement of up to 20 percent in terms of emissions and fuel economy versus a comparable machine. The Active Hybrid concept promises to combine enhanced fuel efficiency and typical BMW driving pleasure into the same machine.

Toyota FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Edition, brand-new models and 2 concepts at Toronto Auto Show

The limited-edition FJ Trail Teams gets a special paint job - white body and top with black fender flares, front and rear bumper caps, mirrors, door handles and 16-inch TRD alloy wheels. The standard equipment list includes trail-tuned Bilstein shocks, off-road tires, rear differential lock and A-Trac, a TRD exhaust system, skid plates and auxiliary lighting.

Chevrolet shows Canadians their new Traverse SUV

Chevrolet is adding  a mid-sized SUV to theor 2009 line up called the Traverse. GM says that’s it’s an expressively styled and well-equipped machine that packs large SUV space and capability into a smaller package.
